  • Joe Stois Sr. has learned a few things.

I started fishing on the rock piers of lake Erie when I was about 7 years old. My uncle and I would take the bus down to East 72nd street and fish for whatever would bite our worms or minnows.

I later started fishing for bass in 1995 and realized VERY QUICKLY that I had a lot to learn. I figured the best way to learn was to join a club. That is what I did when My buddy Mark Musca bought his first bass boat. The marina that he bought it from had a club and they invited Mark and I to fish. I learned some but, wanted to learn more.

I started fishing the bigger circuits in the X-series partner tournaments in 1998. My partner and I did okay managing a check both years that we fished it.

I still knew there was more to learn and I also knew that I would have to purchase better equipment to become a better angler. I started out a little at a time buying what I felt were better products and by doing so, I learned that you really do get what you pay for.I then started the FLW tournaments and of the five tournaments I fished with FLW I have finished, 5th,6th,16th,29th,and 41st.

I also have a top ten finish in the 2011 B.A.S.S. OPEN out of Sandusky where I placed 7th.

I met Brian in 2011 at a FLW event on lake St. Clair. I was throwing my drop shot and he was slinging this crank bait that I had never seen. I started talking to him about the bait and was amazed at how much information he was able to give me on each and every lure he threw and the hows and whys of each as well.

It didn't take long to see that these were superior baits as I watched him sling them in deep water on the final day of the B.A.S.S. open out of Sandusky. I STARTED USING THESE BAITS AND HAVE NOT LOOKED BACK.
